Nye taxable sales up slightly

Taxable sales in Nye County saw a slight increase in October compared to the year prior, seeing a 4.7 percent jump.

October drew in $41,172,417 in taxable sale in the county, compared to October 2014 that saw $39,310,123 in sales.

Statewide taxable sales were up 5.5 percent in October, which was also the number Clark County saw as well.

Some areas that saw strong increases in October were motor vehicle and parts sales that continues to see strong numbers with a 12.1 percent jump in October with $5.76 million in sales.

Food and beverage stores saw an 18.3 percent increase in October, racing up to $2.21 million in taxable sales.

The county that saw the largest increase in taxable sales was Storey County with a 75 percent increase and the biggest drop in sales was White Pine County with a 20.9 percent drop.
