A popular annual event is returning to the valley on Saturday.
The Pahrump Valley Republican Women will host its annual fashion show and luncheon fundraiser at Mountain Falls on Sunday, Oct. 23, beginning at 11 a.m.
Beneficiaries of the fundraiser include students seeking scholarships, Pahrump’s drug court and the Pahrump Valley Museum. Funds will also go to purchasing senior gift baskets for Christmas and books for the Pahrump Community Library.
Andra Braden, treasurer for the organization, said the show can still accept additional models for the event.
“We could still use some models for our fashion show coming up later this month,” she said. “At this point I’m not exactly sure how many models that we have because we have three people working with the models and I just got two more in this week.”
Those who prefer to watch the show also have the opportunity to purchase the apparel, some of which comes from Pahrump’s Sunflower Fashions.
“The whole purpose of the fashion show is we are going to auction the clothes off,” she said. “The clothing the models are wearing will be auctioned off and the money from that goes to benefit various agencies in our community. It’s also a lot of fun.”
Braden said tickets for the show are still available.
“Tickets are $40 each, $70 per couple or you could purchase a table for 10 for $350,” she said. “You can also sponsor a model for $100 and lunch will be included for that price.”
At present, the organization has roughly 30 members.
Braden said the group is always seeking additional members.
