After enjoying temperatures near 70 degrees for the past few days, temps will drop in the area come turkey day.
A cold front that was sitting in the Pacific Northwest began to move in through the valley last night, increasing winds and dropping temperatures.
“The system is going to drop our temperatures from the pleasant 60s to the 50s we’ll have the rest of the week,” National Weather Service Meteorologist Barry Pierce said. “Wednesday and Thursday we’re looking at much cooler temperatures.
“We’re looking at a high of 53 degrees Wednesday and 52 degrees on Thanksgiving Day, with lows starting out at 25 degrees to 29 degrees Thanksgiving morning.”
In addition to the winds and cooler temperatures associated with this system, Pierce explained there is a small chance of precipitation as well.
“I’d say there is a 20 percent chance of showers Wednesday, but it looks dry the rest of the holiday weekend,” he said.
The remainder of the long weekend will remain cool with temperatures hovering around 50 degrees to 55 degrees with lows between 25 degrees and 30 degrees, Pierce said.
