Temps to rise to the 80s for the weekend

After a week of wind and rain, conditions are set to improve this weekend, with above-average temperatures expected in town.

The National Weather Service said that high temperatures will range from the upper-70s today to the mid-80s for the start of the work week.

“We have high pressure that’s building in and that will allow us to warm up,” said Mike Paddock, National Weather Service meteorologist. “Those temperatures are running close to 10 degrees above normal once we get into the 80s.”

The high-pressure system will only be in place for a few days before heading out of town, kicking up winds in the valley.

“By Monday it will start to push east and we’ll start to see some gusty south, southwest breezes,” Paddock said.

High temps are projected to be 79 degrees Saturday, 82 degrees Sunday and 84 degrees to start the work week. Lows will range in the 50-degree to 57-degree range for the weekend.

High temperatures will remain in the 80s into Wednesday, with a projected high of 82 degrees, before a slight cool-down brings in more seasonable temperatures mid-week.
