The first eight months of operations at Vince Neils Tatuado Wild Side Tavern have been an up-and-down experience for the establishment.
After hype for the business grew ahead of its December opening, as it is backed by Neil, the hall of fame Motley Crue frontman, the lure soon wore off, as prices were higher than the area was used to.
The almost 4,000-square-foot Wild Side features 15 beers on tap, four pool tables, two dart boards, and an indoor stage for smaller acts to perform. There were initial plans to add a backyard area with an outdoor stage for larger acts like Neil, but that plan has been put on hold due to the issues that came up.
The bars owner, Michael Tsunis, who runs various Neil-endorsed bars around the country, including in Las Vegas, explained the first few months in town werent the easiest to deal with.
There was a four-month lapse there of things going sour, Tsunis said. I listened to what the town wants and I am giving it to them.
Tsunis said he loves Pahrump, as it has a real down-to-earth feel and the people are as real as they get.
To deal with the issues that arose, Tsunis said that they now have new management in place, addressed the pricing issues and that a kitchen is being installed at the bar.
We are concentrating on customer service and we lowered our prices, he said. We want people to come in, have fun, play a little and eat.
We want them to leave with a good experience.
Wild Side is not new to problems, as the bar experienced a few setbacks as Tsunis tried to get the bar open, ultimately delaying the grand opening over a month.
Despite the issues, Tsunis is confident that the bar is headed in the right direction after the changes.
It was a rough road, no doubt, he said. But were on the long and straight, narrow path to success.
Tsunis said that there will be a grand reopening for Wild Side soon, and it will include the unveiling of the new kitchen at the tavern.
Things are on the upswing, huge, Tsunis said.
Tsunis invites valley residents who have and have not visited the bar to check out the new pricing and take their own walk on the wild side.
