Temperatures will remain hot in the valley through the weekend, with a slight chance of moisture making a return as the work week begins.
The National Weather Service said that temperatures over the next few days should vary between 106 degrees today and 102 degrees Wednesday. A monsoon flow could make its way into town starting Monday.
Pretty much through the weekend, were going to heat up here, said Todd Lercos, National Weather Service meteorologist. It will be a little bit warmer than we have been. Right now it looks like the pattern is going to change. Starting Monday into Tuesday, we might some increase in moisture and thunderstorm activity.
Lercos said that its unclear just how far the moisture will reach at this time, so the valley could miss out on the system.
Were not really sure how far west the system will go, so Pahrump may miss out on a lot of that activity and might not see anything, Lercos said. But it does at least look like the pattern is going to change a little bit and bring in more moisture.
Besides the chance of rain, breezy conditions are expected today, with sustained winds up to 12 mph expected.
Friday will be quite gusty, but those will subside a bit as we progress toward the weekend, he said.
