Wet weather to return for the weekend

Pahrump will see chances of rain return to the valley this weekend after the area saw storms move through town earlier this week.

The National Weather Service said that Saturday and Sunday will both see chances of rain, but the shot at precipitation weakens as the weekend progresses.

“We have about a 50 percent chance of precip on Saturday,” said Caleb Steele, National Weather Service meteorologist. “There will be some breezy north winds, especially to start the day.”

Winds will range around 10 to 15 mph, with rain chances sticking around into the evening, where there is a 30 percent chance of rain.

The rain shot will still be in place Sunday with a 25 percent chance of rain for the day, falling to 15 percent by the evening.

Although precipitation chances are fairly good for rain to fall at some point over the weekend, the total amount that is recorded is expected to be small.

“We’re not looking at anything real heavy, looks like Saturday and Sunday we have up to about 0.2 inches of rain expected,” Steele said.

The wet weather chances will move out Monday, with sunny skies returning for most of the week.

Highs will range from 66 degrees on Saturday, up to 90 degrees on Tuesday over the next week, while lows will dip down as far as 52 degrees on Saturday night and as high as 63 degrees on Tuesday night.
