Windsor’s Thrift Store to hold liquidation auction

Pahrump business owner Trevor Windsor is calling it quits after more than 14 years operating Windsor’s Thrift Store and Furniture Shop.

Windsor plans to liquidate his entire inventory at 1481 E. Highway 372 at 10 a.m., on Saturday, by way of a “no-reserve” auction where everything must go, right down to the store fixtures.

Nevada Public Auction auctioneer Ron Chase said thousands of items are up for bid either at the location, or online.

He said people can bid on items such as brand new furniture, bedroom sets, chairs and recliners and even clothing.

“We have about 15,000 pieces of clothing and we’ve broken them down into large lots based upon size and such,” he said. “They’re all clean and sorted so it’s really nice merchandise. They also carry a lot of thrift store-type items like antiques and collectibles along with sports autographs. It’s too numerous to name. People just need to come down and see what we have.”

Those interested in bidding can preview all of the items on Friday from 9 a.m., to 5 p.m.

A second preview is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m., with the auction beginning at 10 a.m.

Those who can’t make it to the location can log on and participate at www.AuctionNV.com.

“There will also be a lot of gold and silver jewelry as well as coins,” Chase said. “You name it and we’ve probably got it. The auction is also online, so there will be online bidding. The full catalog is online too with things from our website.”

As a no-reserve auction, Chase said he hopes to have an empty store when all is said and done on Saturday.

“This is a typical auction and everything has a lot number on it,” he said. “We will start in the catalog order and we’re selling everything right down to the walls and the fixtures. Sometimes when there’s an auction and we don’t get a certain price, the item is not sold, but a no-reserve auction means everything in there must go. We’re going to have a good time and it’s going to be a lot of fun, we might be up here for about five or six hours.”

Additionally, Chase said accommodations were made to avoid anyone missing out on a bid.

“There will be food on site so there will be no need to leave and possibly miss any good deals,” he said. “All the items are mostly in great shape. There’s going to be a lot of really good stuff that you don’t want to miss. We have all of the surplus furniture that hasn’t been sold yet so there’s brand new bedroom sets, mattresses and chairs and recliners. Everything must go.”
