Cooperative extension continues offering services

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension would like the community to know that even though the county has de-funded our portion of the overall county budget, we are going to continue offering some services to Nye County.

We will continue, on a part-time basis, the 4-H and the Master Gardener programs.

The state has committed funds to staff a part-time 4-H coordinator and a part-time Master Gardener coordinator in Pahrump and a part-time 4-H coordinator in Tonopah/Round Mountain.

Specialists from the cooperative extension will work with Nye County, offering assistance where needed.

Both the Pahrump and Tonopah offices will have limited access to staff or walk-in services. We encourage the public to leave phone messages that staff can respond to.

The public can also use the following email address southern.news@unce.unr.edu to send or leave messages regarding the 4-H and Master Gardener programs.

While the cooperative extension and Nye County realize this is not an ideal situation, we are doing what we can at this point to continue to help the local residents of Nye County.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
