Neighborhood Watch is effective
Pahrump is a unique place around the world. Hot summers and moderate winters. Mountain rains and dust all the time. Many retired vets and older people who want to live out their lives in peace. My point is that we are vulnerable to theft and home invasion. My house was hit by kids who were caught and will pay the price, however I only got part of my belongings back. I never believed it could happen to me. Since that time I know of six other burglaries and two attempts.
The Neighborhood Watch program works. Go outside and look around maybe just a few minutes a week, along with the people around you. Everyone wins if one knows their neighbors. If you see something out of the ordinary, take a picture with a phone if possible and call the police. If your car key has a panic button on it, put it by your bed and hit it if you hear a strange noise around your house.
Again, my point is that we must look after one another.
