LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Open correspondence sent to the NCRCC

Open correspondence sent to the NCRCC

To Nye County Republicans:

Last Thursday, I received a call from an NCR representative notifying me of an interview whereby my answers would be graded against the other candidates by an anonymous board.

During that call, I was told that I needed to “clear up a problem” because you had an email alleging I have used 20 – 30 aliases and that you were “very concerned” and that “my campaign was in jeopardy.” I was told that you had the email for more than 2 weeks.

Then, on Sunday evening, the NCR representative called and told me that the allegations were actually second (or third) hand knowledge obtained from a woman who was gambling at Lakeside. Having spent 3 sleepless nights over this, I was so infuriated that I let the NCR representative know under no uncertain terms and with some very colorful language that I did not appreciate what had been done and promptly hung up the phone.

With all due respect, I am not willing to participate in your interview / grading process; nor do I want to be associated with the NCR; thus, I do not want your endorsement.

The citizens of this community (as well as the candidates) deserve better from the NCR.

Sincerely,

Robert R. Pilkington

Candidate, Nye County Public Administrator
