A ‘thank you’ to the hospital

I would like to express my deep-felt thanks to Desert View Hospital and emergency room. Desert View and the ambulance service need a big “thank you”.

Desert View is an outstanding and caring hospital; they have top doctors, nurses and hospital staff. They have doctors in their specialized areas and they truly care and help you in their area.

When your needs are out of their fields they will transfer to a place or hospital that can fulfill your particular needs.

As a community when you are at Desert View, show that you are proud of having a local hospital.

What you can do as a community, show respect by not littering their grounds and by putting your cigarette butts in their ashtrays and litter in trash cans.

Be proud of your community and hospital.

Officer stops to help stranded motorist

On Aug. 23, I was on my way from Reno to Pahrump when I blew one of the tires on the trailer I was pulling which bent the fender of the trailer. I was approximately 23 miles north of Hawthorne.

After many calls for help with no response, I decided to try to fix the fender and tire myself at 80 years old and 100-plus degrees. While I was doing this, along came Officer Bill Murwin (Badge #4290) with the Hawthorne District Sheriff’s Office. He was with me a total of one and a half hours, between helping me to fix the fender and following me to Hawthorne to make sure I arrived safely.

I would very much like to say thank you for a job well done. I know you do this as part of your job but many time do not hear a thank you. I’m so glad that you were there on that day.

Your friend,

Larry Novak
