The Pahrump Valley High School football team had its annual spaghetti dinner, and according to organizer Holly Clayton the fundraiser Aug. 12 was successful.
“I just wanted to announce the dinner was a huge success,” she said. “We raised $10,750 and it couldn’t have happened without the generosity of Pahrump.”
The highlight of the dinner was the dessert auction, where after dinner about 80 cakes and desserts were auctioned off to the highest bidder.
“I would like to congratulate Tamara Trudeau for winning the Rolling in the Dough trophy for her peanut butter cake that sold for $1,400 to Rick Marshall.”
A tray of musubi went for $80.
After the dinner, the team took the leftover food to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
The money raised for the football team goes to funding major purchases like football sleds, tackling dummies and other high-end pieces of gear that they would otherwise not be able to afford.
