For the Lady Trojans things got ugly quick and the ugliness never stopped. Pahrump (2-10 overall, 0-5 Sunset League) lost 67-21 for their fifth league loss.
The Crusaders (9-3, 3-0) came out shooting early and really never stopped according to Trojans Coach Jennifer Hagstrom.
“Faith is a first-rate program, and they shot the ball extremely well last night,” she said. “I’m hoping that when they come out to Pahrump we can give them a more competitive game and compete at a higher level of intensity to be in the ball game.”
At the end of the first quarter the Trojans were behind 21-5 and by the half the Crusaders had a 36-11 lead. Faith never let up.
Alyssa Murphy led the Trojans with eight points.
The coach says she is rarely disappointed in the efforts of her team.
“Last night was less than stellar. We got into serious foul trouble and they murdered us at the free throw line, which really impacted morale. The younger kids were overwhelmed trying to execute, and made some unforced TO’s which led to the ugliness of the loss,” she said.
The Trojans are at Mojave (4-12, 2-2) today and hope to inflict a loss on the Rattlers at 5:30 p.m.
Trojans boys team: The ugliness continued with the boys game. The Trojans fell to Faith Lutheran 69-19. Uriel Ramberg-Wiley led the team with 7 points.
