Beatty Hornets football team soundly beat Beaver Dam last Friday night 43-36. Hornets Coach Leo Verzilli said his team had a great game.
“The kids played well, and they are playing to the best of their ability. They may not have the knowledge yet, the physical strength or are fast enough at times, but they are playing as hard as they can all the time and that is very exciting,” Verzilli said.
Senior Quarterback Jake Zamora threw for over 200 yards. Luis Flores had over 100-yards rushing and so did Michael Olson. Freshman Jacob Oseguera had over 150-yards receiving.
The Hornets play the Round Mountain Knights on Friday at 7 p.m. The Knights are coming off a huge loss to Tonopah 58-26. Both teams are 0-1 in league play.
