Football has returned and along with it the urge to be with friends prior to the game, celebrating and cheering on a common team — the tailgate party.
I know this is a no-brainer but I thought I would ask around to see what others would bring to a tailgate party. By the way, the teachers at Pahrump Valley High School have it going on, they all tailgated last year before the football game and that really showed off the spirit. I hope to see them out there this year. I know I will be there the first game against Sunrise Mountain.
Trojans defensive coordinator Craig Rieger said to bring the spirit, some type of food (preferably red meat like cheeseburgers and steaks), drink of choice, friends and/or fans of the same team to get wound up with – FIRED UP and fun.
Special Olympics coordinator Jim Soltz said he would bring barbeque, and more barbeque, a potluck side dish, everyone’s favorite beverage and his favorite is Texas sweet tea, a frisbee or football so we can demonstrate our athletic skills or lack thereof and lastly and especially for our Special Olympics athletes is just to be accepted and included in all the fun and excitement of the pregame like everyone else.
Muckers coach Duffy Otteson said he would bring family, friends, a grill, a cooler and a football.
Beatty Athletic Director Leo Verzilli said he would bring some beer, brats, burgers and watermelon.
Finally, I would bring my loving wife, who is the number one fan (of whatever team), comfortable chairs, refreshing drinks, hot spicy chili, friends and family.
