Brandon Schneider was all set to fight and defend his Tuff-N-Uff Light Heavyweight title this Saturday — he was ready but Tuff-N-Uff was not.
The fight was canceled by Schneider’s coach Robert Wilson, who said Tuff-N-Uff kept changing opponents at the last minute and he felt there wasn’t enough time to prepare for the fight.
According to Wilson, his fighter was ready for the original opponent, Lee Cordova, but last week Tuff-N-Uff changed that opponent. Wilson went along with it until he got another call around Monday that Tuff-N-Uff wanted to change it again to an opponent from Minnesota that he knew nothing about, except he had a 9-1 record.
“The minute they changed the fighter again I told Brandon not to accept the fight,” Wilson said. “There was only a week to prepare. Brandon is ready, but still not knowing who to prepare for is a big deal. We just need more time than a week.”
Schneider was more than ready physically for his fight. He recently was seen at his gym, Custom Health and Fitness, working out and was asked if he was ready, and he replied,
“I am ready and I was able to take out Milorod and then this last fighter, Mike Florio,” he said. “Both fighters quit fighting. They are not fighting anymore. That’s what I want to do to my next fighter.”
Wilson said said his fighter has not really taken any substantial time off since his last fight in May.
The new fight may be in December.
