Mountain Falls Golf Course is not all about the golf.
Lately, it has been an activity filled spring for people who like hanging out at this beautiful setting and with summer here, the activities keep coming.
The lake at the golf course and the waterfalls with the Spring Mountains in the background make for an excellent setting for people to take walks and have some good food at the Grill Room at Mountain Falls.
Randy Mudge, the golf professional and manager of the golf course, wants more people to take advantage of this setting. He has brought in other activities besides golf to let the community know that there is more to Mountain Falls than 18 holes.
“We got a lot of activities, music nights, painting on the patio. It’s just a lot of activities to get people out here to use the facilities,” Mudge said. “Music night draws nearly 100 people. And the painting class has over 40 people every time Toni Wombaker shows up. The activities have been a great addition and have all been successful.”
Mountain Falls, 5001 Clubhouse Drive, also will have some special events during the summer like the Poolside Luau on July 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At that event, they will roast a pig and have live entertainment. Tickets are $25 for non-Mountain Falls homeowners and $20 for homeowners. Of course, there are the golf events too.
Mudge said the Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association will have its tournaments for the kids at Mountain Falls this summer which started on May 30. The schedule for June is, June 5, 12, 19, 26 and July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and August 1-2. Tournaments are just $5 per child.
“It’s a good deal,” Mudge said. “It’s a good way for the parents to see if the kids like to play golf or not.”
There is also Ladies Nine and Dine with the Pro, which is a ladies scramble that starts at 5 p.m. and costs $20. It is a good way to get some free tips on your golf swing for Mudge goes out with group to give some pointers.
“With the scramble format, women don’t have to worry about not being able to make a great shot every time for in a scramble every lady will take a shot but the ladies will then shoot from where the best shot lands,” Mudge said. “It takes the pressure off and it is a lot of fun.”
Lastly, there is men’s league on Wednesday at at 5 p.m. The league costs $60 to join and the player does not have to play every week.
