The Pahrump Fall Festival lasted from Sept. 19-22 at Petrack Park, but next to the park was the rodeo at McCullough Arena.

Trojans sports teams are finishing off the week with tough competition as the girls soccer team and football team will face off with top three schools in their leagues.
With two minutes left on the clock, the Trojans girls soccer team was in the lead by one goal against one of the top two soccer teams in their league – seconds later that changed.
With 25 seconds left on the clock, Trojan Natalie Soto took the ball onto Mater Academy East Las Vegas’ side to take one of the longest shots in the game to seal the team’s fate.
This is a big week for the Trojans soccer teams as both teams are playing at least two league games this week.
Sierra Vista Coach steps down — Nate Selby resigned after 13 seasons as baseball coach at Sierra Vista and is being succeeded by assistant Justin Sherman, and Legacy football coach Dave Snyder is moving on after eight seasons with the Longhorns. Selby built the Mountain Lions into a baseball power. In 2005, his team won the 4A state championship. He steps down as the team moves to the I-A next year.
On June 21 the engines will roar once again for the fallen racer, Jonathan Burch, who was fondly known as “the Sandman” at the Pahrump Speedway. The memorial race will start at 7 p.m. Burch loved the speedway.
Back in the day Johnny could go play Little League for $50 and people complained then that it was too much to pay.
American Legion is off to a slow start this summer. This year Pahrump has two teams, a Silver League and a Coaches League. The legion team will be coached by Brian Hayes, who is also the head Trojans baseball coach. He is aided this year by returning coaches Roy Uyeno, Thom Walker and Jeff Koenig.
It has been said that a family that rides together stays together, or something like that. The Romans are that kind of a family. According to Crystal Romans, horses and rodeo have become a way of life for the entire family. Both her son, Austin and daughter, Cheyenne, are heavily involved in rodeo.
