The Pahrump Fall Festival lasted from Sept. 19-22 at Petrack Park, but next to the park was the rodeo at McCullough Arena.

Trojans sports teams are finishing off the week with tough competition as the girls soccer team and football team will face off with top three schools in their leagues.
With two minutes left on the clock, the Trojans girls soccer team was in the lead by one goal against one of the top two soccer teams in their league – seconds later that changed.
With 25 seconds left on the clock, Trojan Natalie Soto took the ball onto Mater Academy East Las Vegas’ side to take one of the longest shots in the game to seal the team’s fate.
This is a big week for the Trojans soccer teams as both teams are playing at least two league games this week.
The Muckers track team was highly successful at the state track meet at Carson High School in Carson City on Friday and Saturday, bringing home 17 medals. In addition to the medals, the Muckers brought home two individual state championships and two relay state championships.
There was no way to predict that the Lady Trojans would have made it so far after finishing in third place in conference and yet they made it to within one game of the state finals.
The Trojans left Pahrump on Thursday with the chance of some repeat individual champions and perhaps a few new ones.
Faith Lutheran won the golf state championship with a combined score of 781 for the team title. Lowry came in a close second with a 787.
The Beatty women’s track team came close to a repeat, but came up 10 points short to take a disappointing 2nd place. Beatty finished at 104 points to Sierra Lutheran’s 114. If only a couple of events had gone to Beatty, the Hornets would be champions. The Hornets will have to wait until next year. By next year their long distance runners will be unbeatable.
The Muckers track and field team did an outstanding job in the Southern Nevada Regional Finals at Sunrise Mountain High School in Las Vegas.
High school golfers from all over the state descended on Pahrump for two days of golf. The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association had its 2014 state golf championships in Pahrump at Mountain Falls. The two-day tournament started on Wednesday and ended on Thursday.
What is really cool about watching Beatty High School track is with each meet they just get better and better. Beatty seems to find new ways to win.
