Trojans sports teams are finishing off the week with tough competition as the girls soccer team and football team will face off with top three schools in their leagues.
With two minutes left on the clock, the Trojans girls soccer team was in the lead by one goal against one of the top two soccer teams in their league – seconds later that changed.
With 25 seconds left on the clock, Trojan Natalie Soto took the ball onto Mater Academy East Las Vegas’ side to take one of the longest shots in the game to seal the team’s fate.

The Muckers, who are the number one seed in the Southern Nevada Division IV Regional Playoffs, put the icing on the cake of a perfect regular season, beating Indian Springs last Thursday at home 7-8 and 2-12.
AJ Segura has been a mainstay on the football and baseball teams for the past four years. Spring season baseball is it for Segura at Pahrump Valley High School, for he graduates at the end of the year.

At the Pahrump Valley Speedway, the third annual Relay for Life Powder Puff was held on April 26 with Pahrump Valley high school student, Andi Bishop, getting first place. Second place went to Bailey Chappell and third went to Reagan Van Engen.
After seven years, the Special Olympic Torch run returns to Nye County. According to the Special Olympics Nevada, the state has summer games each year in Reno and each year Nevada law enforcement agencies are guardians of the torch, known as the “Flame of Hope.” The law enforcement agencies also help raise money for Special Olympics.
Beatty track was at the White Pine Invitational last weekend. This was the second to last meet before the regional meet.
Tonopah — All year the Tonopah fans have been waiting for this game. The fans knew all the other games were meaningless unless the team could beat Pahranagat Valley. All the games were practice for this one series with Pahranagat Valley, the current state champion.
