Trojans baseball routed by Eagles

Everything is relative. About last year at the River Valley tourney at the start of the season, Trojans Coach Brian Hayes complained that his team was averaging about 11 errors a game and he said the team needed to cut errors. This year the team started around 4 errors a game. The coach still says his team needs to cut errors as his expectations have changed.

Lady Trojans off to a great start going 4-2 at Needles Tournament

Trojans softball is back and started where they left off last year. The team went to post season play last year and they expect even better results this year (6-4 in league).

Baker to Vegas to run without a NCSO team

If you are one of those people who complain that there never is a cop around when you need one, then have your accident this weekend between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. this Saturday. This is the estimated time when 8,000 law enforcement officers and their support crews will start pouring into town for the 30th annual Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay.

PVHS hitting in the groove

Down in Arizona, River Valley High School was the place to be for hot prep baseball action as the Trojans played their first games of the 2014 season. The tourney attracted teams from all over the region, California, Nevada and Arizona. At the tourney, the Trojans faced some tough California and Arizona teams and went 2-3-1.

Trojans have many newcomers this year

The Trojan boys track team came up short last year and failed to take the region title as expected. The team was supposed to contend for the state title last year but the injury to top sprinter Kennan Harris blew everything out of the water.

Lady Trojans look to challenge Faith

This year the Lady Trojans should do well against Faith Lutheran. How well is still to be determined. Trojans Coach Ed Kirkwood believes the girls still have some strong talent despite losing a lot of seniors last year.

Youth golf club holds 20th annual quarter auction

Who says one can’t buy things for a quarter anymore? It’s time for the 20th annual Pahrump Valley Youth Golf Founders Club Quarter Auction in conjunction with the Pahrump Valley Times at the Nugget Convention Center. The auction will be tonight and doors will open at 6 p.m. and the auction starts at 7 p.m.
