In Division I-A volleyball, the Trojans played eight games in the last week. They quickly defeated Western (4-2 overall, 2-1 Sunset League) who was 2-0 in league at the time, in three at home, 25-16, 25-7 and 25-9 on Thursday.
The Trojans (7-11, 1-3) then went on the road to play in a two-day tournament in Boulder City Friday and Saturday and went 2-4, playing some tough teams.
The two wins were against Lincoln County, 7-25, 25-21, 15-9 and Cheyenne (1-12, 0-4) 25-14 and 25-19.
The Trojans lost to three Division I teams. Losing to El Dorado twice 25-18, 25-23 and again 25-16, 25-12. They lost to Legacy, 25-13, 25-16, and to Liberty, 25-18, 17-25 and 15-11.
After the tournament, Pahrump faced off with Mojave (4-2, 3-1) and lost in a disappointing 5 sets, 10-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-25, 16-14.
Mojave stats:
Alexis Trieb had 13 kills, and Andi Bishop added 10 kills for the Trojans. Jill Smith dished out 28 assists, and Lauren Ashford had 25 digs for Pahrump.
The Trojans face Clark (5-9, 0-4) tonight to see if they can turn things around.
In Division IV action, Beatty (6-2, 1-1) went up against Sandy Valley (7-1, 2-0) and lost three close ones, 25-19, 25-18, and 25-23.
Tonopah saw action against Indian Springs and lost, 25-9, 25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 6-15. Both teams will try to bounce back this week. Beatty will play Pahranagat Valley (13-5, 2-0) at home and Tonopah goes up against Sandy Valley at home.
