For those looking for a fun, family activity at the Pahrump Fall Festival to do, look no further. Once again there will be an open horseshoe tournament at the horseshoe pits at Petrack Park on Sunday that is open to all.
To play, register at the horseshoe pits at the park, which are near the pool before 9 a.m. on Sunday or you can pre-register with the Pahrump Chamber of Commerce office in the Nevada State Bank building on 1301 South Highway 160, contact Vicky Hilling at 775-727-5800.
The tournament starts at 10 a.m. and the cost is $10 per team. There will be prize money for first, second and third place.
This is a non-sanctioned tournament, which just means that everyone is welcome to play.
“There is no age limit,” organizer Mike Norton said. “Our average age is about 60, but we would like kids out there. We have had high school kids out there. As long as they can throw it to the other end. We are expecting a big turnout, which is about 10-12 teams. It will be a double elimination tourney.”
