Virginia Weir pitching in Cedar City. The Trojan Pride played 3 “friendlies” in Cedar City, Utah on July 23rd. They came out on top of the round robin with three wins. The first game was played against Dixie from St. George, Utah. The Pride won 6-2. Virginia Weir got the win after pitching three scoreless innings. Destany Ivy belted a triple in the first inning to give the Pride a 4-0 lead after three singles by Jackie Stobbe, Kathy Niles and Leeanne Kaiwi. The Pride played Extreme Heat and won 5-2. Jackie Stobbe gets a hit in Cedar City. The third game was against the Blast of Las Vegas. The Pride won 10-6. Leeanne Kaiwi belted a giant home run in the first to put the Pride up by three. AYSO soccer camp is Aug. 8-Aug. 12, from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m., for ages 4-14, at Ian Deutch Park.

If you love a good football movie, see My All American which is the story of Freddie Steinmark, a safety for the University of Texas, the year they won the national title in 1969. The movie will move you to tears.
Athletic physicals by Affiliated Chiropractic, at 2250 E. Postal Road, will be on July 30 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. CASH only and cost is $20 for PVHS and RCMS students.
For Pop Warner, the physicals are $10. There will be free hot dogs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
