Trojans basketball roundup

The Trojans boys basketball team traveled to Cheyenne on Wednesday night and lost 69-26. Pahrump Valley is still looking for their first league win.

Danny Foss paced Pahrump Valley (2-8 overall, 0-3 Sunset League) with 17 points. The Trojans host Western (2-14, 0-4) at 6:30 p.m. The Trojans have a good chance of securing their first league win tonight. The last time Pahrump beat Western was in the 2013 season. That year the two teams split. Last year Western was 2-0 against the Trojans.

The Trojans girls basketball team (1-4, 0-3) are also still looking for their first league win. They came close at Cheyenne (2-5, 1-2) on Wednesday, losing a tough one 28-25. At the half, the score was 15-9. The Trojans closed the gap in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Desert Shields 9-5.

 

Stats: Lauren Ashford led the girls in scoring with 10 points and Jill Smith was second with 5.

The girls are at home tonight at 5 p.m. against Western (10-7, 4-0).
