Trojans overpower a winless Western

The Trojans football team was in cruise control as they ran to a 63-18 victory over a winless Western team (0-4 overall, 0-2 Sunset League) on Friday night.

Pahrump needed to work some kinks out in the offense and did just that against the Warriors, compiling 450 yards in total offense.

Trojans coach Adam Gent was pleased with the way his team played against Western.

“Western was a great game for our young men and I believe that it will help lead into a great game against Clark,” the coach said. “We have some things we need to clean up, but if we play our best, execute, and take care of the football, we have a great chance to be 2-1 in league and win against a good Clark team.”

The Trojans (2-2 overall, 1-1 Sunset League) needed for the offense to finish their drives, having gone into the red zone a couple of times against Sunrise Mountain and Mojave without scoring. Against Western, senior quarterback TJ Milk finished drives all night long. He threw for two TDs, had 8 completions for 9 attempts for 160 yards.

In the rushing department, Tommy Gascoigne led in rushing with 135 yards and scored two touchdowns. Devlin Dillon rushed for 61 yards. He had also had two touchdowns, on one run and one pass and brother Jesse Dillon, not to be outdone, also had two touchdown runs. Jesse Dillon had a total of 51 yards.

Devlin Dillon led the team in receptions with 6 for 118 yards. Parker Hart had 1 reception for 27 yards and Riley Sutton had 1 for 15.

The team faces (Clark 2-2, 0-2) at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
