Man jailed for domestic battery
Dustin Anthony Post was jailed on Feb. 22 and charged with domestic battery after deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a domestic battery call at an address on Vondell Drive.
Deputies made contact with the victim who reportedly stated that her husband, identified as Post, had choked her. The victim reportedly told deputies that the incident started out as a verbal altercation and became physical when she attempted to leave the home. The victim explained that as she was walking away from Post, he allegedly put his arms around her from the back to grab her phone and keys in an attempt to prevent her from leaving. The victim said that when Post had his arms around her neck they both fell back and rolled around on the carpet.
The victim subsequently contacted dispatch to advise that Post had left her mother’s residence where she had gone. Deputies subsequently made a traffic stop on the vehicle that Post was driving.
When deputies spoke with Post, he reportedly stated that the victim attacked him and he never touched her. Deputies noted in the arrest report that they saw redness on the victim’s neck and lacerations which were consistent with her statements.
Post was subsequently arrested and transported to the Nye County Detention Center and booked on the charge of domestic battery.
Man jailed for attack on father
William C. Dailey was arrested on Feb. 21 and charged with domestic battery with strangulation – victim older person after deputies were called to a report of a domestic situation at an address on East Cactus that had occurred on Feb. 17.
When deputies made contact with the reporting party, he reportedly stated that on Feb. 17 he witnessed Dailey place his hands around the neck of his father, the victim and choke him.
Deputies contacted the victim who reportedly stated that his son came to town on the 17th and within a few hours of his son’s arrival they began to argue and Dailey grabbed his neck, choking him and yelling at him.
When deputies spoke with Dailey, he reportedly stated, “Yes, just after I walked in the home from the airport, we started arguing and my father grabbed my shirt, was yelling at me so I grabbed him by his shoulders like this…” Deputies noted that Dailey demonstrated how he grabbed the victim at the base of the neck. Dailey reportedly continued saying, “…and yelled at him to leave me alone.”
Dailey was subsequently arrested and transported to the jail and booked on the charge of domestic battery with strangulation – victim older person.
