Man jailed for domestic battery

Dustin Anthony Post was jailed on Feb. 22 and charged with domestic battery after deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a domestic battery call at an address on Vondell Drive.

The victim reportedly told deputies that the incident started out as a verbal altercation and became physical when she attempted to leave the home. The victim explained that as she was walking away from Post, he allegedly put his arms around her from the back to grab her phone and keys in an attempt to prevent her from leaving. The victim said that when Post had his arms around her neck they both fell back and rolled around on the carpet.

The victim subsequently contacted dispatch to advise that Post had left her mother’s residence where she had gone. Deputies subsequently made a traffic stop on the vehicle that Post was driving.

When deputies spoke with Post, he reportedly stated that the victim attacked him and he never touched her. Deputies noted in the arrest report that they saw redness on the victim’s neck and lacerations which were consistent with her statements.
