There is no prize money, no ribbons or trophies, but they come from all over the county and southern Nevada to race. Upwards of 500 racers have come to race at “MOPAR Midnight Mayhem” and they have been doing this for the past 13 years at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Thieves break into Little League office and run away with dreams

Last Tuesday the Pahrump Valley Little League building at Ian Deutch Park was burglarized according to Lou Banuelos, president of the Little League. He said he got the news that the crime had happened while he was on a trip to Elko.

Players 96 girls soccer club 18 and under, coached by Joe Sladek won the 2014 U.S. Youth Soccer Region IV Championship tournament, which included 13 states.

WCSS on the verge of disappearing

There is a sweeping change at the dirt tracks in California and it has made its way to the Pahrump Valley Speedway. This year there has been a big switch from International Motor Contest Association West Coast Super Stocks to the IMCA Modifieds and there may be a possibility the IMCA WCSS might be disbanded next season.

NIAA to make small changes in rubric for Division I-A next year

The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association met on June 18 for their summer meeting. Of note, the association decided on a compressed spring schedule for next year. The board met and approved a new spring schedule to take the state championships out of the Memorial Day weekend schedule. Memorial Day interfered this year with the title matches falling on May 23 weekend.
