A solar field proposed for 100 acres in western Pahrump prompted the Nye County Commission to take action to ban commercial solar development on land zoned Rural Homestead Residential 9.5. When the change goes into effect on January 23, solar will no longer be allowed on any residentially zoned land in the Pahrump Regional Planning District.
