Officials at Death Valley National Park said the winter holidays are one of the busiest times at the popular destination, roughly an hour-plus drive from Pahrump. Most roads and hiking areas at the park remain accessible to the public, but emergency and rescue services are limited. Two areas, Salt Creek and Natural Bridge, have been closed for resource protection.
