More Advocates Welcomed

Fifth District Court Judge Robert Lane, center, swore in four new volunteers for Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA, on Monday. Since 2011, the organization routinely recruits, trains and supervises the volunteers, who act as advocates in court, making recommendations for children who cannot stand up or speak for themselves. So far, 54 volunteers have been sworn into the program, which serves between 80 and 100 children in the court system.
