Pahrump resident Jason O’Bannon, 46, was fatally shot after leveling a firearm at a Nye County Sheriff’s Office detective on Thursday evening Dec. 6. Sheriff Sharon Wehrly said O’Bannon was a convicted felon with an extensive criminal history dating back to 1998.
