General aviation airport for Pahrump

Pertaining to an article in the PV Times on Wednesday, January 15, the government of Nye County has applied for a grant of more than $2 million with which to make repairs and improvements to the public use, general aviation airports in Tonopah, Beatty and Gabbs.

The combined populations of all three towns total less than 10% of the population of Pahrump.

Yet, try as we might for more than 15 years, Pahrump in unable to accomplish all of the steps necessary to build a public use, general aviation airport.

It should be obvious that such an airport would provide jobs, taxes and needed services. Why is it so hard?
