Reader comments on planned roundabouts

It seems incredulous to me that the state would allow a small roundabout at highways 160 and 372 or even at Pahrump Valley Boulevard and Highway 372.

First: The cost to the state to purchase the amount of land necessary from Walgreen’s, Terrible’s, the Nugget, and B of A. These were high dollar commercial lands and to properly take the land they MUST pay fair market price. Then at Big O Tires, Pizza Hut, the same, but the church parking lot it seems unlikely also.

Second: Utilities in the area will be affected, meaning rerouted or protected from heavy traffic – sewer, rainwater runoff culverts, water lines, electrical and gas/gasoline lines.

Third: These roundabouts MUST be large enough for large, long commercial vehicles to navigate, not like Summerlin, in Las Vegas’ small diameter circles.

Fourth: The time to do this WILL take months and mess up traffic in and through Pahrump.
