Trojans take on the Bonanza Bengals

The Trojans open today at 7 p.m. against the Bonanza Bengals at home. This will be the second year that Trojans Coach Joe Clayton will be using the Jet Sweep Offense and the Trojans should be able to attack the Bengals with the run.

The Trojans offense will be led by veteran QB TJ Milk. Look for the Trojans to establish their running game early. They gave a hint of what they could do against Durango during a scrimmage last Saturday. On their first play, they scored a rushing touchdown. The Trojans are made for speed this year with Keenan Harris, Sam Tucsnak, Deon Estes and Tommy Gascoigne running the ball.

The Trojans will be attacking the defensive line of the Bengals with a veteran offensive line that consists of the following: Jeremy Coates, Jace Clayton, Trevor McPherson, Jaxon Clayton, David Rocha, Hunter Medici, Demari Jackson, Jesse Dillon and D’Adrian Hill.

Bonanza High School Bengals is in the Sunset League Northwest this year due to recent realignment. Their league consists of Arbor View, Cimarron-Memorial, Centennial and Desert Oasis. The Bengals have 43 on their roster this year. They have been traditionally a rushing team. On their roster they have three QBs listed, which one we will see is still a mystery. They have Cannon Reid, a freshman, Danny Ruiz, a sophomore and Wyatt Allison, a junior. Ruiz has size at 6-foot-1-inches and 217 pounds, he is a good bet to start. Allison at 5-foot-10-inches tall is the other bet at 209 pounds.
