The Fish Lake Valley tui chub is an olive-colored minnow, less than 5 inches long, found only in a remote area of Esmeralda County. Conservationists say the fish is threatened by farming and mining operations and the Center for Biological Diversity has filed a lawsuit to protect the fish under the federal Endangered Species Act.
