The Pahrump Art Gallery on East Street, north of the library, will be changing out the exhibit on Monday, Jan. 6. Fourteen artists will be participating this quarter. The featured artist for this quarter is Kathy Leroy.

It’s time for the Pahrump Valley Museum and Historical Society to begin its lecture series, which over the past two years has grown from six presentations to 11. Winery owner Jack Sanders will be the guest speaker and will talk about the history of wine making in Nevada and specifically in Pahrump.

Today we’re going to talk about romance scams. In my opinion, they are the cruelest hoaxes of all. Romance scams come in all forms and can appear anywhere. The root is usually the almighty dollar sign, although there can be other motivations such as power, control or downright cruelty.
Dick Senior is a self-taught naturalist in favor of protecting what is left of the wild horse population in this area. He is also known as the “Keeper of the Wheeler Well.” Senior renovated the well in 2010 and has been maintaining it as a watering station for wildlife ever since.
