Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly said the pilot of a six-passenger airplane mistook the entrance of the Nevada Southern Detention Center on Mesquite Avenue for a landing strip. The Calvada Meadows Airport is roughly four miles north of the detention facility at 900 East Jenny circle.
