July sees increase in active registered voters

At the start of this month, Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar reported an increase of 19,157 active registered voters in July compared to June.

The Battle Born State’s active registered voters increased 0.92 percent and now total 2,112,266.

Republican voters increased by 250, 0.04 percent. Democratic voters saw an increase of 1,585, 0.27 percent. Nonpartisan voters increased the most with 16,831, 2.11 percent.

The Independent American Party, Libertarian Party of Nevada and an assortment of “other” minor political parties also all saw voter increases in July.

Out of the over 2 million active registered voters in Nevada 815,596 (38.61 percent) are Nonpartisan, 583,505 (27.62 percent) are Democrats, 581,668 (27.54 percent) are Republicans, 85,560 (4.05 percent) are of the Independent American Party, 14,099 (0.67 percent) are Libertarians and 31,838 (1.51 percent) are affiliated with other minor political parties.

Last month’s active voter registration statistics from the secretary of state’s office show that in Nye County, 16,129 are Republicans, 5,498 are Democrats, 13,995 are nonpartisan, 1,961 belong to the Independent American Party, 285 are Libertarians, and 244 are members of other minor political parties.

Nevadans can check, cancel or update their voter registration at any time by visiting vote.nv.gov.
