The University of Nevada is either getting you outdoors, providing classes for gardeners, hosting health seminars or sponsoring activities for the kids throughout the winter. Curves offers workouts to support breast cancer research

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and in keeping with it, the local Curves for Women at 301 S. Oxbow Ave., Suite 9, is offering to donate $10 to breast cancer research for every punch card it sells.

PV Museum offers lecture Saturday

The Pahrump Valley Museum and Historical Society will host its next lecture in the series at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at the museum, 410 E. Basin Ave. The guest speaker will be Don McDermott.
