Peace Officer Review Board on BoCC agenda

The creation of a Nye County Peace Officer Advisory Review Board is on the agenda when the Nye County Commission meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday at commissioner’s chambers at 2100 Walt Williams Dr. on the Calvada Eye.

Commissioners will also consider adopting a bill amending county code designating certain paved, county highways for off-road vehicle use.

The sheriff requests permission to hire two deputy sheriffs in the northern area command using money from the half-cent sales tax increase.

A lease agreement with New Frontier Treatment Center to lease space at the old courthouse in Tonopah is up for approval.

Commissioners will consider a resolution setting the schedule of adoption fees and penalties for the Nye County Animal Shelter.

A date will be set for bills amending the county code replacing the town board representative on the Pahrump Regional Planning Commission with a member of the general public and a bill penalizing people who knowingly file false reports with Nye County Animal Control and the Nye County Sheriff’s Office which requires an investigation.
