DVNP Furnace Creek Visitor Center captures Design Award of Excellence

DEATH VALLEY, Calif. — The Furnace Creek Visitor Center in Death Valley National Park was granted the Award of Excellence from Docomomo US. The award is part of the Modernism of America Awards, the first national program of its kind to celebrate the projects and people working to preserve and rehabilitate significant mid-century modern buildings for continued productive use, and to raise public awareness of the ongoing threats to modern architecture and design.

MMA puts on a great show

This action I find way better than boxing.

Revised kennel regulations up for county vote

TONOPAH — A bill amending the Nye County Code on animal control, allowing people with a lot of animals to have a pet fancier’s permit instead of requiring a commercial kennel permit, will be on the agenda when commissioners meet here at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Amateur weightlifting at the Nugget

The Nevada State Bench Press and Deadlift Championships will be held at the Pahrump Nugget on March 1 at 9 a.m. The entry fee for those who want to watch is $5 and kids 8 and under are free.
