Lady Hornets win big against Coral Academy

The Lady Hornets destroyed Coral Academy 57-18. The Hornets (3-0 overall) Coach Aimee Senior believes her team’s offense is getting a good workout.

“On our offense we are now comfortable running it,” Senior said. “We should be getting much needed work on rebounding and boxing out, but we seem to forget about that and stand flat-footed to rebound. The younger players got some court time and more experience, at the varsity level under their belt.”

Coral Academy is out of Henderson and this is their first year playing in Division IV.

Beatty boys basketball started the season with a win last week at home against Trona, Calif. 60- 29.

Over the weekend the team traveled to the Snake Pit Classic tournament and won two games and lost three. The Hornets beat the Virgin Valley JV team 39-33 and also beat Lund 53-20. They lost to Liberty Baptist (32-40), North Tahoe (34-61) and Fredonia (31-48).

Both Beatty teams play at Word of Life on Jan. 6.
