Brenda Erdoes, the longtime top lawyer at the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau, was chosen Monday to be the new director, replacing Rick Combs.

A Nye County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm where a person is endangered after shooting at a fleeing suspect in Pahrump. Neither the suspect, nor the deputy, were injured during the foot chase.
