This year, more than others, is about change in people rather than events. Sure, there were some events worth mentioning, but for the most part, 2016 was a year of people coming and going more than anything else. The PVT looks at 2016 sports in two parts, with the second part coming out in Friday’s issue.
The Beatty boys basketball team is off to a strong start this year, taking three games at the Round Mountain tourney last weekend. They beat Carlin 59-47, Eureka 57-46, and Round Mountain 59-58.

TONOPAH- Tanner Otteson has been honored with an invitation to play in the 2017 13th Annual Max Emfinger All-American Game in Hammond, Louisiana, which is the oldest all-American game in the country.
