BUSINESS: Owner Accurate Window Tinting

AGE: 35

BACKGROUND: “I’ve had business licenses for window tinting from my garage before I moved it into this storefront at 2701 Pahrump Valley Blvd. I learned the trade from my brother-in-law. Before that, I was a heavy-equipment operator in Las Vegas. I’ve worked for Floyd’s Construction and for Pahrump Concrete.”

FIRST JOB: “I came here from Chicago with my dad. He had his own home-building business and I worked for him as a laborer.”

YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I have lived in Pahrump since 1995 and started window tinting as a hobby. Now that I have a storefront, I’m going to join the Chamber of Commerce and try to get involved in the community. We have made contributions and donations to several local organizations.”

PERSONAL: “I have been with my wife for 19 years and we have two children. We have a sand rail and enjoy taking it out to Dumont Dunes several times a year. Other family activities include trips to Lake Mead and I buy, refurbish and resell all kinds of vehicles.”

BUSINESS CLIMATE: “I like the small community atmosphere and how well good service and word-of-mouth advertising works. I’m subletting space from the glass shop owners so I didn’t have to go through a lot of red tape. We do however, need jobs here and more things to attract visitors. I’ve lived here most of my life and would like to see people be able to have needs met by shopping locally.”
