Pahrump Valley Speedway nears season’s end

Sophomore quarterback Wyatt Cross directed the offense, Angel Ware delivered back-to-back scoring plays for Pahrump, and relentless defensive pressure helped the Trojans pull away from Valley in a 64–26 road victory.

Neither Tristan nor Brendan Torres had tennis experience before this season. Now the baseball-playing brothers share Pahrump Valley’s top boys doubles position, dividing the court by their strengths and occasionally assigning each other the blame.

Pahrump Valley visits the Valley Vikings Friday, with coach Toby Henry confident that a demanding early schedule is preparing his players for league competition.

Cathy Behrens added another medal to her collection with a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at the Silver State Games in Las Vegas.

Pahrump Valley opened league play with a 3-3 tie against Virgin Valley before a 7-0 loss at Moapa Valley exposed the need for quicker decisions and sustained intensity. The JV team won both matches without allowing a goal.

A forfeit victory, a short-handed loss and an unfinished tie have tested Pahrump Valley’s tennis teams as returning starters lead a developing roster.
