PVLL to elect board members at Oct. 1 meeting

Pahrump Valley earned the home field. Now the Trojans need another win over Virgin Valley to keep playing. Friday’s playoff rematch follows a 21–14 victory in September that required a goal-line stand, a 98-yard touchdown drive and a fourth-quarter defensive finish.

Pahrump Valley’s boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams return to Boulder City for Saturday’s state championships, bringing regional titles, experienced leaders and depth throughout their lineups.

Pahrump Valley won both Class 3A Southern Region cross-country titles Oct. 30, sending its boys’ and girls’ teams to the Nov. 7 state championships in Boulder City.

Third-seeded Pahrump Valley completed a three-win postseason run with a 5-2 victory over top-seeded Virgin Valley in Saturday’s Southern Region final.

Beatty enters Friday’s 1A Central regional tournament at 16-4 and riding a seven-match winning streak, with a semifinal victory over Indian Springs enough to send the Hornets to state.

Evan Strain’s return at quarterback and a defense that shut out Boulder City after halftime helped the Trojans finish second in league and earn a home playoff game.

Chanel Anthony rebounded from a semifinal loss to close her senior season with a third-place finish at state, while fellow Pahrump Valley captain Jace Eichner fulfilled his preseason goal of returning to the tournament.

After a bye week, the Trojans return Friday with a chance to finish the regular season above .500 and strengthen their position in the league standings.

Pahrump Valley’s girls will return to The Meadows for their regional opener, while the boys are scheduled to host Cristo Rey after closing the regular season.
